About

I work with adolescents and adults presenting with a range of problems in living. I have clinical experience working with trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, relational struggles, depression, religious trauma, life transitions, questions of meaning, and other difficulties.

Though my main framework is psychodynamic, I also incorporate dimensions of cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and existential therapies. In a nutshell, this means that I work with painful cognitive and emotional patterns that keep people from the growth they desire. I strive to provide a warm and empathic presence for those I work with, holding a deep respect for the intensely personal nature of the therapeutic process.

Education and Training

I hold a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, along with an MTS from Vanderbilt University with a concentration in Psychology and Culture.

I have also pursued additional postgraduate training from the Nashville Center for Psychoanalysis and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (NCPPP) and the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute (STLPI). I'm currently an advanced candidate at the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute (STLPI).

Teaching is an activity that I've started
more recentIy. I have taught classes in the APP and Community curriculums at NCPPP and STLPI on therapeutic process, models of the mind, and specific authors.
